Swings

I love swings. As a child I remember spending all my recess time out on the swings. Recently I went on a swing and I had just as much fun as when I was a child.  So I asked myself “What is it about swings that I find so fun”? I figured out that it had something to do with the highest and lowest point of the swing. It is at those points when the world has completely different perspectives. The high points is when the world seems to stop and become completely clear. And the low point is when the world seems to be whizzing by, out of control.

Life is a bit like a swing isn’t it? There are high points and low points. You can’t have one without the other. They emphasize each other by highlighting the contrast between good and bad. Its the high points that lead to low points that lead to high points again (say that three times fast).

This concept has been on my mind recently as I found myself “swinging” quickly through high and low points in my life. It sort of inspired me to write a song. So I wrote a song called “Seeking You.” It is a song about finding God even when life gets hard. Even when the world tells us that the fight isn’t worth it, we have to remember that we have a God who is fighting for us. The challenge is to seek Him and His will in the midst of the difficult situations. So here it is. “Seeking You”. I’m sorry my voice isn’t the best, but it is a song that I wrote from my heart, and I felt God asking me to share it. (In case you’re wondering, I only was scared by a bee once when I was in the field).

I am getting ready to head back to the States for a very quick trip. I will be leaving Croatia next Monday and will be returning around the end of April/beginning of May. When I return back to Croatia I will be working with Maja in a church in Petrinja learning what youth ministry looks like in Croatia. From there I will begin a slow transition to begin work in Sisak. Please be praying for open doors in Sisak so that I can partner with a local church to start a ministry from. Also please pray for me as I continue to learn Croatian. Right now, I cannot begin a ministry until I speak Croatian. This is the biggest struggle when trying to reach people. I am looking into intensive Croatian language courses in Zagreb which would give me a big start in my language journey. Thank you so much for continuing to the support the ministry that I am doing, I am so excited to see where God leads me next.
