Meet Emily

I first began blogging in August 2018 during a transitional period of my life. I had decided to drop all of my college plans and follows God’s calling to become a full time missionary. At the time, it seemed crazy. However now two and a half years into my journey, I can say that following God’s plans has been the best decision of my life. I am learning to pursue the Lord even when things are not the way I want them to be going.

I became a follower of Jesus at a young age and grew up in the church. It was through this privilege that I had the opportunity to begin serving internationally on short-term mission trips. From my first international mission trip at 13, I knew I loved serving God’s people, but I never imagined I would be in full time ministry.

I first went to Croatia when I was 17 and quickly became close friends with some Croatian teenagers. Through conversation with them, I saw how little they knew about the Lord, and that broke my heart. Since I had the opportunity to be raised in the church, I was shocked that people my age had never heard stories such as Jonah and the Whale or David and Goliath. By God’s grace, He patiently revealed His will for my life, which meant ministering to the youth in Sisak, Croatia.

God has called me to be a missionary in Sisak, Croatia. It is a beautiful city that needs to experience the transformational love of Christ. I am committed to teaching Croatian youth about Jesus so they can develop deep relationships with him. Partnering with a local church called Betel, I reach young Croats for Christ. Having Christ in your life creates the necessary foundation to build a life upon.

Through this blog, I hope to encourage others by sharing my own spiritual journey with the Lord. I am far from perfect, and I will do my best to be as honest about the joys, struggles, and norms of working in ministry and as a missionary. Thank you for joining me on this journey, if you would like to know more about my story or my ministry, please contact me!
