Awestruck

As I arrived to the airport on Sunday, I was not prepared for what I was about to experience. Everything that could possibly go wrong when it comes to luggage, went wrong (including landing in London where I found my suitcase on the floor next to the baggage carousel wide open). In the midst of the craziness of baggage issues, was the most perfect flight I could have imagined. I was fortunate to get a window seat in economy plus. After the sun had gone down I opened the window to see if I could see the stars (for those of you who don’t know, the stars are my favorite thing God made). I had the perfect view of the big dipper from my window. Very impressed I continued to look out the window while I was watching a movie that was playing. A while later I was getting ready to try and sleep and before I took my glasses off, and I decided to take one more look at the stars. When I turned my head to look I saw the most dazzling light display I’ve ever seen- the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. I was dazzled and frozen in awestruck wonder. The green lights moving back and forth made my mouth drop open! Then what do you suppose God did next? A few minutes later, while I was watching the stars above and the northern lights below, a shooting star streaks across the sky. Okay God you’ve got my attention!! He sent these displays of his power for me to see that he has an unrestrained love for us. It brings him joy to make us happy! In that moment I knew that this is the right path for me, and I am supposed to be here. I felt like the most loved girl in all the world. The rest of my trip seemed insignificant in comparison to this display of beauty. I am now in Sunderland ready to begin teaching piano lessons tomorrow! Please pray that I will be able to get well rested tonight (since I was too busy looking at the colors on the plane to sleep) so that I will be able to jump in tomorrow.
